Oracle Independent Consultant
Roger Drolet has been implementing and upgrading Oracle Financials, Security and
Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) applications for more than fifteen (15) years.
During the past seven (7) years, Mr. Drolet has marketed his services as an Oracle
Independent Consultant working on a corp-to-corp basis through his company,
OraApps Consulting, Inc. (OraApps). OraApps is an Oracle Partner participating in
Oracle's Security and GRC Partner Initiative.
Desire to Develop Oracle Practice
For several years, Mr. Drolet has been preparing to transition from an Oracle
Professional to the owner of an Oracle Consulting Practice. Realizing that he lacked the
resources to launch a traditional Oracle Consulting Practice, Mr. Drolet decided to pool
the resources of other Oracle Independent Consultants and launch a virtual Oracle
Consulting Practice.
Oracle Communities
On January 14, 2009, Mr. Drolet formed two online communities. The first community
that he formed is the Oracle Independent Consultants Community. The second
community Mr. Drolet formed is the Oracle Security and GRC Professionals Community.
Together, these communities have several hundred members. All members are
required to me US Citizens, with, at least, five (5) years of Oracle experience and a
bachelor degree. Members do not have to be working as Oracle Independent
Consultants.

Mr. Drolet also founded Oracle Independent Consultants LLC on January 19, 2009. The
OIC LLC is a world-wide virtual Oracle Consulting Practice. It's member consultants
come from all over the world. All of our member consultants are committed to quality
and excellence.
Need for New Business Model
In January 2009, the US economy was experiencing and continues to experience a
significant downturn. Many companies have terminated and will continue to terminate
many of their employees. There is a lot of uncertainty in the market.
Mr. Drolet is convinced that the OIC LLC can use current technology to manage and
grow a virtual Oracle Consulting Practice with no employees, no consultants on the
bench, no physical assets, and significantly less overhead costs than traditional Oracle
Consulting Firms.
Incentives
There are currently several hundred Oracle Professionals in the Oracle communities
that Mr. Drolet founded. Most of these consultants are working on an Oracle project and
many can identify requirements for additional Oracle Professionals. The OIC LLC offers
a generous Referral Commission to members whose leads result in additional
revenue.
Similarly, some members will realize that their clients need additional Oracle
Technology and Application products and services. In addition to the Referral
Commission, the OIC LLC will share of percentage of the gross margin earned on a
OIC LLC owned project with members who worked on that project.
